- Thinking of being sexually active and would like a worry-free method of birth control?
- Looking for a long-term or short-term type of birth control?
- At ease talking to a doctor about birth control?
- In a stable relationship or have many sexual partners?
- Worried about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?
- Have any serious health problems?
- Smoke?
- Have trouble remembering to take medications on time?
- Would like a form of birth control that also offers some relief from irregular or painful periods?

Who Should Take Nordette?
- Women who want to prevent pregnancy
- Women who want to achieve more regular menstrual cycles
- Women with moderate to severe acne
Who Shouldn't Take Nordette?
Women who are pregnant, thinking about becoming pregnant or who are breastfeeding should talk to a doctor before starting to take Nordette. Its safety in these situations has not been fully tested. If pregnancy should inadvertently occur, taking Nordette during the first month or two will not affect the baby, but is best avoided.
The safety of Nordette has not been proven in female children who have not yet begun puberty and started their periods.
Women who are allergic to any of the ingredients found in Nordette, or who have any of the following conditions, should talk with a doctor before taking Nordette:
- History of blood clots, called thrombophlebitis
- Heart attack or stroke
- Diabetes with circulation problems
- Poorly controlled high blood pressure
- Cancer of the breast
- Cancer of the lining of the womb
- Unexplained vaginal bleeding, especially after menopause
- Liver disease
- High cholesterol or triglycerides
- Migraine headaches
- Mental depression
